Cartoon cherries, smiling flowers and ringed planets: fans of Doyoung (도영) of NCT chose a bright, playful style when they wrapped a stairway entrance at Sports Complex Station in Seoul. The NCT Doyoung fan ad is signed "CHINA DOYOUNGBAR" and carries three different cheering messages in Korean. This page walks through the design and explains how fans abroad can plan a similar ad.

Where was the ad displayed?

The ad was at Sports Complex Station, on Line 2 and Line 9. The station name sign in our photo reads "종합운동장 Sports Complex" and shows the number 7.

The print covers the walls around the entrance stairs: the two long walls beside the steps and the band above the name sign, where it continues round the corner onto a narrow side panel. One of our photos was taken after dark, with the banner lit against the trees and railing above it.

There is no date on our photos, and we have no record of the run dates. We have left them blank.

What did the ad look like?

Each wall has its own background colour, but the same cast of drawn characters ties them together: twin cherries with faces, hearts, daisies, stars and little planets, all over a checked pattern at the bottom.

Blue wall. Sky blue, with "Doyoung" in red script and a two-line message in green: "영원히 진심을 다해 / 도영에게 답해". It means roughly "Forever, with all our hearts, we answer Doyoung." A large photo of the singer in a white beret fills the right side, and a thin strip along the top repeats the message next to "CHINA DOYOUNGBAR".

Mint wall. A photo set in a yellow frame, "Doyoung" in blue script, and a question and answer: "무대에서 그렇게 빛나는 건 뭘까? / 바로 도영이의 진심이야!" In English: "What is it that shines so brightly on stage? It's Doyoung's sincerity!" The credit "CHINA DOYOUNGBAR" sits in a label at the lower left.

Above the name sign. Pink, with two concert photos and the headline "영원히 빛나는 도영아! 무대를 즐겨!" ("Doyoung, shining forever! Enjoy the stage!"). The side panel shows his name in tall green Korean letters, "DOYOUNG" in a small capsule, and the credit again.

Who organized it?

The ad names "CHINA DOYOUNGBAR" on every wall. We repeat it exactly as printed and add nothing to it.

It is one more case of fans outside Korea sending their words to a Seoul station, in Korean, for people passing by to read.

What is a station wrap ad?

In a station wrap ad, the artwork is printed large and fixed onto the walls themselves, so the ad takes the shape of the place. At a stairway that means long triangles and a wide strip over the passage.

These fans used the format to say three things instead of one. A framed poster usually has room for a single line. Here, each wall got its own message and its own colour, and the repeated characters and script logo make it clear they belong together. If your fan club has several messages it cannot choose between, a multi-wall space is one way to keep them all.

How can fans overseas place a similar ad in Korea?

Living abroad is not a barrier to a project like this. These are the usual steps:

  1. Settle on the occasion and the date.
  2. Choose where you want the ad: a station entrance, a station lightbox, a city bus or another location.
  3. Prepare the messages and pictures, and check that you may use every photo and illustration.
  4. Send us your idea. We will answer with the options that are available for your dates.

Illustrated designs with several walls need careful sizing for each surface, so sharing your draft early helps.

The steps are explained on How It Works. When you have an outline, request a quote. Costs change with the ad type and dates, so please contact us for a quote.
